I am Seth Weber, born and raised in Cincinnati. My favorite music to play is funk and I am inspired by artists such as: Bootsy Collins, Thundercat, Esperanza Spalding, Curtis Mayfield, and Roy Ayers.
Lifelong musician
My music career, like many musicians, began at a young age. At 6 years old, I cultivated a longing to be behind a drum kit. Seeing my interest, my parents got me a kit and started me on weekly lessons.
Once I started college I found a new love in bass guitar. One pluck of that E string and the rest is history. I also picked up guitar several years ago which has helped immensely in honing my bass skills. My latest obsession is banjo, which I started learning in October 2021.
What I play
Bass
(2011-Present)
I first picked up the bass my freshman year of college and immediately threw myself into it. I put in practice for years before I finally began playing on a stage. It is by far my favorite instrument and favorite role to play in a band.
Guitar
(2017-Present)
I received an acoustic guitar as a gift and have since steadily improved my proficiency on the instrument. The more I advance and learn on guitar, the more those lessons carry over to my bass playing and make me a more well-rounded musician.
Banjo
(2021-Present)
I always enjoyed the sound of banjo and wanted to try my hand with it. Learning this instrument has been a great experience. It’s fun to learn and fun to play. Like guitar, lessons learned from banjo have carried over to other instruments.
Drums
(1999-2010)
As stated above, I began playing drums at a young age and practiced through high school. I eventually fell out of practice and while I can still hold my own in a jam, I could use some time to shake off the rust and become a better player. All I’m looking for is a good space to practice.
